If it wasn't for the commitee there would be no football club. Keep up the good work.

You used the excuse that the players had lost faith in Rob & steve, which players were they???Why wasn't there a players meeting held before this took place to discuss this matter with ALL the players??As far as im aware there was only one unhappy player at the club and i believe he's now been sold! When is someone from the board going to be brave enough to come on this forum and explain there actions taken and let us all know how this decision will move the club forwards? ?

I agree with a lot of what is being said in defence of the committee. However, dereham Town committee is elected to run the club on behalf of the members. Why wernt the members told about RT being sacked. Do the members get to see the minutes of the meetings the committee have or are they secret.

Lets be honest people Rob has done quite a good job compared to recent managers but why is this ? It's because he has had a massive budget, especially compared to recent Managers. He promises big money to players without agreeing it from the board so the players don't normally get paid as they were promised and therefore become unhappy. Rob has slated players for being greedy in the past and for not being loyal . But this is the very same man that has applied for the Diss job twice and the mildenhall job. Why was this if it wasn't for money and greed. The reality is with the funds he has had he has under achieved. if you can afford to pay some players £600 a month the board are going to expect a top 3 finish and rightly so. Rob will get another job somewhere along the line and the club will move on. Oh and when you talk about resigning every time you drop a point or the board does not agree to every demand is it any surprise the board lost confidence in him. Too many times he spat his dummy out. So maybe Rob can learn from this experience and become a better manager. Well done Dereham.

For those without the EDP here is todays write up
Robert Taylor yesterday said he was "devastated" after being sacked as Dereham Town manager. The former Manchester City and Wolves striker was at the helm during arguably the most successful period in the clubs history. In his 3 years as boss the Magpies twice won the Norfolk Senior Cup and also became established as a leading Rigeons League premier division club. But the clubs committee lost confidence in Taylor and felt some players were not behind him and he was dismissed on Monday night by 10 votes to 1 The news came 2 days after losing to Sheringham in the NSC but the club insisted the shock defeat was not the reason for Taylor's sacking. Taylor said he was "absolutely gutted" at the news and believes he has been "puished" out of the club for no reason at all. Club Chairman Simon barnes said he would not get into a slanging match with Taylor. He said it was the hardest decision of his footballing life to sack Taylor and heaped praise on his achievements in the 3 years. But Barnes added "We have to make the decisions which are right for the football club There is more but no time to type more in just now

With regards to the departure of Rob Taylor and Steve Culyer from Dereham Town, I personally do not think that the decison to 'part company' with them was made lightly. Of course it was huge shame for Dereham to be knocked out of the Senior Cup last weekend but I am sure that wasn't the main reasons why Dereham Town let them go. There MUST have been more going on behind closed doors. Boards do not just sack managers for a laugh or without reasons do they? Reading the report in the EDP, Rob Taylor was voted out by 10 votes to 1! Obviously this suggests that there were more crucial things going on that perhaps any of us fans will never know about?! I guess it will all come out in the wash eventually and I am not one to speculate why there was such a breakdown in the relationship between Rob Taylor and Dereham Town. One cannot take away from Rob Taylor all that he did for Dereham but we must remember that the team aren't just going to forget how to play the game are they?! They are a very strong team with experience and they know what they have to do. Rob Taylor's 'way' will live on with them fo the time being and they aren't just going to change their game overnight. Everything in life happens for a reason and you can't dwell on the past. Rob Taylor has gone and the club must move on and 'get over it'. A club doesn't revolve around a manager does it? In my opinon, Rob Taylor can never come back as he has obvioulsy lost the faith of the board and according to reports some of the players. He will be fine I am sure. The most important thing is that we are all strong together and support the team. You players are doing a great job! Long live D.T.F.C.!!!!!
