i believe that the rumours are true, it is a shame that challen has decided to go, however money talks! Even though he has gone, the boys i am sure will prove him wrong and that it was a mistake leaving the Norfolk Senior Cup Winners.

I would just like to confirm that it is true I have decided to sign for Wroxham.
It was a very tough decision as I have really enjoyed playing for Dereham, the lads are superb in all teams from 1st team down to youth. The people behind the scenes that keep the club going day in day out working hard you know who you are, are the most friendly and hardworking group of people ever.
Also you have a great set up and I really enjoyed it there.
There are a few reasons I have signed for Wroxham, they are that a lot of my Friends who i have known for years are playing there, plus I think they have a squad that is going to be challenging for trophies next season. No disrespect intended to the current Dereham 1st team squad because they are a excellent group of players.
The decision was not down to money as has been suggested.
It was the principal in the end !!
So I would just like to apologize to you all, especially Dale as I told him I would sign at the end of season presentation and as all the boys know he is a top man, so sorry Dale mate.
I wish you all the best for the season and for the future .

graham challen is such an overated, money grabber, he could never play at a higher level. didnt he only come from wroxham to dereham year before last?

I don't think Graham is a money grabber at all. He has his reasons for goin. He is a good player who Dereham will miss.

If Graham is a money grabber so is Ollie Willis and Nicky Howells who are both on £75 a game, Nathan Pauling who is on £70 a game, Sam Willis is on £50 a game. No doubt there are extras too. Don't know how much the new boys are on.

Also Graham gives 100% every game and won't put in a half hearted performance if the the opposition rough it up a bit or at an away game on a crap pitch in bad weather. I have my doubts about some of the lads mentioned in the previous posts. If they are getting paid this amount, they should put it in whatever. I know they are still young and not that strong but they should make the effort.

For this amount of money, Rob Taylor could've got some genuinely real good players. How do DTFC justify this amount of money for these boys?

hang on a minute................ we have arguably the best young players around, to comment on olly, nicky, sam and gus is very harsh. Ok everyone is entitled to opinions but these boys could play anywhere locally i.e. Wroxham, Diss, and Norwich United! They are def better then the likes of pauling at wroxham, gilmore at wroxham, white at wroxham etc etc so lets not worry about who gets what and for what reasons lets concentrate on the positives and that is that they play for Dereham Town FC.

Your missing the point Friend. If the club pays them too much and runs out of money half way through the season will they stay at Dereham or go where they can be paid for their skills

Delia's Aunt i understand your point of concern, however do you think a club at this level would commit to paying players if they could not afford to do so? I think that the powers that be should be given slightly more respect than that dont you? As to players worth and value to a team, it is upto the management to decide what they want to pay players, therefroe let them be the judge of that.

I thought a money grabber was someone who left a club for another club,not a player who was offered a contract,and stayed at the club who picked him up?
