Thats a shame as he was hanging round dereham i thought we would be able to find him a job at the football club director of football - overseeing all teams, looking at potential prospects? Reserve team manager - helping players progress perhaps none of the above i'm sure him and steve would look good in the specsavers car park attendant jackets. Seriously though Matty coming back to the club is like king kev going back to newcastle. welcome home to the messiah. ;D

Copied from the Diss Express, Friday 18 April: Diss boss hits out at manner of sacking Deposed Diss Town manager has accused the club of being 'spineless' after discovering second hand that he had lost his job. Tong, who led the Tangerines back into the Ridgeons League First Division promotion places on Tuesday with a 2-0 victory at Fakenham Town was told on Friday morning that a new manager had been put in place for next season and rang chairman Des Tebble to have his fate confirmed. "I had a phone call from someone I knew to say Robert Taylor had been appointed to take over next season," said Tong. "I rang the chairman to get confirmation." Tong had tendered his resignation earlier this month but the club did not accept it. He spoke to chairman Tebble again on Tuesday but was told he wanted him to stay. "Diss is an excellent club but one or two people need to look at themselves and get rid of this reputation they're getting," said Tong. "It is spineless. I was at the club on Thursday evening for a youth game. The chairman was there and I would have thought someone would have said something then. "As manager I accept our results were not what's required but this isn't the way to do business. "People have warned me about that at Diss. "Falling out of the Premier Division was a big blow. They feel I'm not the person to take them back, even though promotion is still mathematically possible. "It would have been nice to be told personally that I wasn't required and not have to find out second hand." Diss Town have made no official statement. www.dissexpress.co.uk/sport/Football-Diss-boss-hits-out.3999525.jp
