Perhaps 'guest' would like to know the facts before making throwaway comments. The Youth Team manager is also the manager of the 'A' Team therefore there is a clear link between the youth and adult teams. If a player is good enough there is no doubt they will progress, as is the case with a number of youth team players who have already played senior football with the reserves this season. It seems to be being suggested that some of the youth team should be in the first team just because they're young and/or local? If anyone has seen the youth team this season they will know that whilst there are several very promising players unfortunately none are quite ready for that level yet. So you have to make a decision. Do you want a team playing in the Ridgeons Prem, or a locally based team who would almost certainly play at a lower level? One for discussion maybe but Fakenham are the clear example of a club that have chose the latter. Finally, re Luke Fell, I know for a fact that both the first and reserve team managers were made aware of his ability when he was 14/15, and I agree that he should have been invited to train with the senior sides at the very least, but he's an ambitious footballer and when Kings Lynn showed an interest I'd think it questionable whether he would have stayed at Dereham in any case. It's like saying a lad playing for lets say Bradenham would not seek a move to Dereham if the opportunity arose. Anyway, look forward to some responses, and compliments on the quality of the site.

hi. 'guest' again. Unquestionable. At such a young age, Luke Fell should certainly go to the higher ranked club. No question about it. For his own sake he has to play for the bigger club. For all managers, youth, a team, reserves and first team, they surely should know the answer. Anyone who thinks he should stay at dereham, when he could better himself are totally selfish. Good luck Luke, hope you make a career out of football and I am sure all of dereham town f.c wishes you the same.

I am the guy who made comments on discussion no. 12, 14, 19 and 21. I know most people who have had anything to do with dereham town football club over the last 15 years. Please could discussion no.20 make his/her name available for further discussion. Thanks. I am only interested for the benefit of the club. You have no need to be shy.

I know Ben Jacob from the U'18s and think he is a good player. Do you think he has potential to play for the 1st Team?
