Now the new season is more or less here, can we please see Steve Dembicki 'lose it', how he used to when he was linesman for the club. When he did, it was the funniest thing I have seen happen within the club, such as the times at Wymondham, Fakenham and Wroxham. Maybe he should lose it with certain committee members or even those higher up in the club(if they are still in the club?). Maybe this will sort things out 'behind the scenes'.

Trouble is, there are certain officials of the club who are absolute w**kers, who are clueless about running a football club. The team done well last year by winning the senior cup. That is where it stops. We need some of the old school from Dereham town F.C. who were about when Dereham first moved to Aldiss park, who actually cared about the club and were not interested in self recognition for the efforts they made. We were actually attracting crowds of 3, 4, or even 5 hundred plus on a regular basis. Where have they gone? Yeah, things change and can't always stay the same but I feel certain people shouldn't be there. I heard 'top officials' from the club say last seasons final was the biggest in the history of the club. B*ll*cks. The game against cromer where Jarvo scored the winner when we were still in the Anglian com, the games against 1st placed Swaffham and 2nd placed Stanway in the Jewson Div 1 who we needed to beat to get promotion into the premier. These were all equally as important as should be every game. The point is, these officials cannot relate to these games coz they don't know about them coz they hav had no interest in DTFC before. Get rid of them. Not all of them coz some are worth their weight in gold. You know who they are!!! Please can we get more people involved who are Dereham Town F.C. through and through.

Why not put yourself forward for committee membership where you will be able to get your point across first hand. As you say, the Club needs Committee Members who have the Clubs best interest at heart at the helm

If you are serious about joining the Committee, your chance is next Monday at the EGM. A new Chairman will be elected. As only members can vote (I take it you are a paid up member of the Club as you support it so passionately) you can take an active part in ensuring that the right type of Chairman leads the Club. You will also have the opportunity to seek election to the Committee. There are spare places available so nows your chance. By being part of the Committee is the only way you can influence it!!

Thankyou for informing me of the meeting. By encouraging me to become an active member of the commitee I can see you agree with what I am saying. Some people cannot face the facts and get a little shirty when the truth is exposed. They seem to get a little defensive and sometimes even resort to sarcasm but I am pleased with your support.

I am keen about joining the committee but I am not available any evenings from mon to thurs next week. If you can re-arrange the meeting for the week after that would be better.

I didn't know what an EGM was apart from it being a type of meeting. I didn't really expect it to be changed just for me. I genuinely can't make the meeting. I suppose that an extraordinary meeting is being held because the AGM was a complete balls up, so i've heard.

Don't want any of this call his bluff sh*t either. I am not sure i would fit into the world of George Hayes and his bunch of merrymen(pricks).

If i knew people would genuinely listen to what i have to say, i would like to be involved.

I hear Barnesy is favourite for the job of next chairman. I get on with him and i can say what i want to him. Maybe i should wait to see the outcome before i commit.

On second thoughts it might be a bad idea for you to get on to the Committee at DTFC. Your atitude reminds me of a little boy who has had his football taken away from him by his mummy. Dereham Town FC has grown up since the good old days on The Rec. It seems that you are not capable of growing with them. The standard of football being played at the Club now far exceeds that of the past. The present Committee are as far as I can see doing the best they can to ensure that the Club is able to compete in the cut throat premier league where many of the clubs have financial benefactors who keep them supplied with ready cash. DTFC does not have that luxury. Good players have to be paid good money or they will just leave the club. The actual running of the team is left to Robert Taylor and his crew and they are doing a great job. George Hayes and his Committee have worked hard behind Robert to try and get him the money he needs to keep this team together. OK I'll agree that at times he has done things that most of us supporters would not agree with but I don't agree that he does them for self gratification. George has his finger in so many pies that most people in the know understand that he is a business man who will always try his hardest to suceed in his undertakings. I understand that he is resigning the Chairmanship because he himself is tired of the bickering in the Club and, as he HAS THE INTEREST of the Club at heart is opening the door for some new blood. Dereham Town FC is a progressive club who needs the support of us locals. Instead of continually moaning about the goings on its time some constructive comments were presented. Get behind the Club instead of knocking it. That way you can really prove that you are a Dereham Town supporter. By the way you didnt say whether you were an actual paid up member of the Club!

Firstly, the standard of ridgeons prem football now is not as good as the jewsons prem football when DTFC first got into the top league.

I am sorry that your thoughts are different to mine but please calm down, its only opinion and I am sorry I touched a nerve. You are a fan of George Hayes, I absolutely loathe the bloke as chairman of dereham town f.c. though outside football I may well feel different about him should I know him. I am not knocking the club, I love the club. I am knocking a small minority of people at the club. We have 1 thing in common, we both want the club to succeed and do well although we have different views. We must remember that.

Dereham Town Football Club was, through many peoples hard effort put there for Dereham, no one else. It is the best set up around here by far, but if the football is that fantastic, if the club is being run well by a hard working, dedicated to the cause businessman, if the supporters of DTFC faithful and locals are that impressed with what is going on why are we only reaching crowd attendances of the days of the rec.

I am out in dereham on sat 19th of this month, I will probably visit most drinking establishments in the town. Please come and join me for a bevvy or two. We can discuss the ins and outs of the club on a more personal level. You are a knowledgeable person and may be able to put me right on a few facts. It is probably better than getting our views across the way we are.

I reckon this discussion should continue here on the bulletin board. For a start it is good to see some proper discussion rather than the usual drivell that seems to pour forth. Your last post indicated that you thought that i was a fan of the present Chairman. I never said that. All i said that he was trying his hardest in the best way he knew to do his best for the Club. You can't fault a bloke for that.
How you can imagine that the standard of football now is less than it was 5 yeats ago mystifies me. The team we have at the moment would have probably won the old Jewson premier league. The standard of most of the teams in the Rigeons has risen steadily and it is a well known fact that this league is one of the best at our level. To maintain this standard we must move along at the same pace as other clubs if we want to stay in this league. If however as you appear to beleive, only Dereham lads should play for the team, then prepare to go back down the divisions. At the moment we dont have the depth of talent to achieve your way. We have a lot of very good youngsters being brought through but they will not be ready for a few years. And, if we were to go down in the leagues it would be a very difficult job to get up again.
On attendances. We do not get the attendances that we deserve but there is only so much you can do to get peoiple of their backsides on a Saturday afternoon. There are so many other things to do then - the wife keeps telling me!!

When I said the the club was put their for Dereham, I meant it was there for the town and having a club like that is good for the town. I was simply saying that we weren't getting enough people from the town supporting our club and there must be a reason why! I realise that we need to get players outside of Dereham to stay in the league, it is essential. We were very lucky that the boys from the early days of Derehams Jewson league adventure were mostly local boys and able to hold their own at that level. They had all matured together on the pitch. It was and still is a rare occurance. What I am now gonna say will cause contoversy. I am not saying the boys from years gone by are better players than today. I think they had the advantage of being from Dereham. Therefore it is only natural for them to have more passion for their home club and believe you me, it does make a difference. Also, off the pitch you had more of them staying for a drink and at 7 oclock at night the club house would often still be busy. This doesn't happen anymore.

The standard of football HAS dropped. Yeah, the top teams are still good but their is a helluva lot of garbage in the league.

Rob Taylor knows that if he is gonna help DTFC win the league, they have to be more consistent. He has done well to keep the boys together and not lose too many players. This is a good thing, and I believe the more they play together can only improve them as a unit. They are already capable as individuals. Individually they are better than last seasons league position suggests.

I hear from good authority(apparently) Barnesy is almost certain to become new chairman of the club. We should know by next week. I think any change will be an improvement.

All the topics i have discussed are based on my opinion. We are all entitled to have one and lots of our opinions differ. People are bound to take exception at some of the things I have said. I am right, you are wrong.

Keep up the good work Rob and the boys on the pitch.

P.s. To get money for the club. you could sell the training area out the back for Housing land. Only joking.

Well we are back to the start with this one. It has been refreshing to get a decent debate going on a subject that any real fan of the Club would have had thoughts on. Pity more of the fans didn't come in and give their opinions though. The usual crank put in his bit but you will always get that in any discussion forum. All that counts now is for all the fans to get behind the team for the coming season.

I would like to see the website updated more often. There have been several friendly matches so far this season yet not one report has been uploaded. Why is this? I don't get to see all the matches so when I can't make it I would like to see how the team got one, who scored what goals etc. Surely this is the basics of running a good website?
