Rumour has it that Danny Wright has signed for Watford for 50k?

Heard it was 75k but his trial game for Watford ended in him injuring himself badly. Could this put a slant on the transfer? Who will replace him because he led the team and without him we are half a side and will finish midtable.

Danny Wright will be signing a 1 year contract for 2006/2007 season with extra 1 year option.

Hang on a minute...........lets be sensible on this topic. Danny Wright was a fantastic player for us, however we are not a one man side and i am sure that our manager and asst manager would not allow us to be. Lets remember back to the Needham Market result at home where we won 1-0 without wrighty.
I think that given the signing we are likely to make we will be challenging with the best of them next season. With all of the players signed on it makes for a great season and i for one am looking forward to it big time.
As for Wrighty good luck to him and hopefully we will all see him on match of the day soon!

Not saying we are a one man band but to win matches you need goal scrores and to find someone as prolific in the scoring department is a hard act unless we are paying big time and that is not going to happen. If it wasn't for wrighty we would not have won so many games and would have finished lower down the league. You can have the best defence in the league but if you dont score could end up with 42 draws in a season.

what about the strikers presently at the club?moody?kerry?young mowbray?obviously we will need a replacement for wright as he was the best striker at the club but what about the ones we already have?

Sorry but not good enough and consistant for the Prem of Ridgeons league. If they were Taylor would have been playing them regulary. To be successful at that level you need quality strikers.

Joe kerry has a pretty good goal to game ratio, moody has been unlucky this season, but the last few games of the season i thought he played really well. Mowbray is 18 years of age and still has a lot to learn but the potential is there.
Certainly do need to make a couple of additions to the squad in all positions because competition can only be healthy for the squad, people will have to fight for their places!! A quality striker is needed to fill Wrightys boots because last season he scored nearly a 1/3 of the clubs league goals and without that Dereham could well be mid-table again next season.

Lets hope that Danny makes the grade in his move up the ladder. He has been a revelation for us at Dereham. OK he has not hit the heights this season that he did last year but he is still the top scorer and got the one that counts at Carrow Road. I for one am sorry to see him go. Good Luck lad

Danny, thanks for all your efforts at Dereham. I've enjoyed watching you play and wish you all the best at Histon: I hope histon go on to get promotion (looks pretty likely) and that you have success in the Conference. Thanks for the excellent winner on Tuesday

Good luck with your future in the game Danny. It has been a pleasure to watch you play for the Magpies. Hope to see you sometime in the future in the Premier Division playing against Man U.
