Dudes.
Firstly, I would like to congratulate Rob and Steve on the job and hard work they have done over the past few seasons. Two county cups have been added to the history of the club. Well done fellas.
Secondly, I cannot understand why DTFC are waiting until the end of the season to appoint a new manager. It is surely more beneficial to put someone in there now, so he can get to know the teams and players, get a good idea of who is staying or going and have a look at what he needs to do to prepare for next season.
I am not saying Gus isn't capable of being manager but he is still very young. He should be enjoying his football without the worries of running the side.
Surely Matthew Henman has to be the obvious candidate for taking the new job on. He is a local lad, he has been part of the club for years and still is part of the club, he has excellent knowledge of the local game, he is experienced both as a player and manager and equally as important, we know his heart would be 100% dedicated to the job.
What reasons would the club have not to appoint him as manager?
Lets wait and see.
Many thanks.
John.

Matt Henman would be perfect Foxy, but something tells me Mr Barnes don't like Matt, after his appointment a few years ago. Matt is 100% local and deservres his chance. I hope you read this Barnes.

I disagree, I think Mick would do a good job and would bring new, young, blood to the club. He's never been afraid to give youth a chance and has a wealth of experience. A good choice I'd say.

Does mick money realise he can become a registered user? He wouldn't have to sign in as guest 'chopper' then.

Mick is indeed a mate who I've assisted over the years and was happy to hear he's resurfaced at Thetford. Knowing the local youth scene as he does, I'd suggest Dereham get some of the current U18's signed up before Mick does so for Thetford's 1st team!

I would just like to say that i was at the game last week and i was disgusted to see Robert Taylor and Steve Culyer sitting there talking to players and commitee, when apparently they have been slating Mr. Barnes and the commitee. I can't believe that they can show their faces at the football club! As for the new manager, I am really pleased that Matty Henman has gotten the job and now maybe Robert will back off and let the team play decent football.

Sure they are members and can watch the games but they are happy if Dereham concede a goal or lose the game.
They need to stop making themselves look like children and have a bit of dignity.
Graham.

;D I'm sure the committee have taken loads of s :-Xt over the last month and don't feel the need for any more, by stopping individuals from attending matches. The previous posts say it all, they are showing themselves up, for what they truly are. I would to wish Matt and the team all the best, I'm sure he will give 100% and I hope we can ALL move forward now. ;D

I have just seen what others have been saying about my first message and I have no idea why Robert is still going to the club and i don't understand it but that is my opinion. I have been reading what has been said and i feel that this has gone on long enough and that everyone should let Matty and the Lads play the game. As for Mr. Barnes I would just like to say how much i admire him because alot of S**t has been said about him, and i also noticed that in one of the messages his Family was mentioned, yet he has kept his cool so WELL DONE MR. BARNES. I hope that my message will be the end of this horrible time for everybody who is involved with Dereham!

Whilst I am happy Chicken has got the new managers role I must remind him that he still owes me a bottle of miller from approx 1994/5. It was a friday night after a Dereham charity cup game. A good time was had by all. Oh, the exploits of the Dereham Town Manager.
